Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.

So I have finished school here, which is crazy! I cant believe that my teaching is over and I have almost finished my year abroad! Its a bittersweet feeling, cause I’m excited I’m going home again but at the same time gutted to be leaving France! Leaving all my friends here, this beautiful city and all the yummy food and drink! Also losing the freedom of having this year abroad, I think I might find it quite hard to go back to uni!

I have a great 2 weeks ahead of me; I’m going to Paris to see my hannah banana tomorrow, Lyon on Tuesday, with my french filles for  days and my birthday on Friday!

Then mum and dad are coming to Amiens and Madrid next week! EXCITING TIMES.

Alsooooo the sunshine and heat has eventually arrived in Amiens and its about 23 degrees here today! YAY. This afternoon Annie, Holly, Judith and I went to the park and sat and enjoyed the sun! It was beaut weather and was so nice chilling with them! We then went to ad’hoc for a drink, I had an awesome non-alcoholic cocktail, it was yum!

It was my last day at Ecole Paul Langevin yesterday. It was a kinda weird feeling knowing that I will never be back!
But 2 of my wee classes gave me a card, which was realllly cute! (even though they can never spell my name!! ) And I love how they all say ‘kiss love …’ CUTE.

Easter time in Amiens; cute easter decorations, nid de pâques, and an amazing parcel form my mummy <3

Can’t believe I only have 21 days left in France!! ahhh bittersweet.

Joyeuses Pâques

For Easter weekend I went down to Uncle John and Auntie Joan’s house in Culles les Roches in Burgundy.

On Good Friday, I went to Paris and then got the TGV to Le Creusot to meet John and Joan. They picked me up from the station, unfortunately it was pretty minging weather, but I got to theirs at about 5.30pm or so!

Their village is so cute, it is really small and doesn’t even have a shop but it is so pretty and french I loved it! And then their house is gorgeous, they had a big lod fire on when I arrived and it is down really french and its just beut! They showed me round the hosue which is actually really big, I had the whole upstairs to myself, I had the lavender bedroom! (There was also anouther double bedroom, a wee tv/cute room and then an amazing bathroom) Downstairs there is their living/dining room, a computer/office/bedroom, kitchen and their bedroom and ensuite! They also have a private courtyard with a jacuzzi, a wine cellar, the man before them had made a little mini chapel in one of their basements and then across the road they have their garden!

For dinner that night we had duck a l’orange with veg, then fruit and ice cream and some yummy cheese! We also had some gorgeous red wine their neighbours had brought them back from Rhône.

On Saturday we went to a market nearby in Cluny and it was really cute, we got some spinach for dinner, bread and tapenade! On our way back they showed me a gorgeous chateau and then we came back and had some pasta for a late lunch. Later that afternoon we went over to one of their neighbours and they have 2 girls just a bit younger than me so it was nice to meet and talk with them! They had a beeeeautiful house and we had some tea and cake! Then we came back and had our dinner, pork with apples and spinach and potatoes with kir royal (my fav drink!!) and a pineapple dessert.

On Easter Sunday we went to Taize, a religious community nearby. It was really interesting, there were so many people there and we were all sitting on the floor. We lit candles (to spread the light of the world) and then there were reading and chants throughout the service and a we had Eucharist. We came back home and had a beautiful Sunday dinner, lamb with rosemary, garlic, leeks and potatoes, amazing wine and then some fruit and cheese! It was sunny so we went out for a lovely walk and then meet some of their neighbours. We had some pizza for a light dinner and then watched some tv.

I was leaving Monday morning, so before breakfast, we went out to the jacuzzi. It was great, its weird cause it was freezing outside but you were so warm and relaxed being in the jacuzzi! Then I headed off back to Amiens.

It was such a nice weekend and I am so glad I got to see thier house out there and I can see why they try and come out as much as possible! It has made me fall more in love with France! I DONT WANT TO LEAVE!!

Haha how cute, this was my cousin and his friends, they did this at the school talent show and they made a proper version/video!
